Why Movement Mastery?


Who i am

Hi!  My name is Cat Bradshaw and I’m a certified personal trainer, health coach, and fitness model.  I’ve been working with clients of all backgrounds for the past 9 years.  One thing my clients have in common, whether they’re brand new to working out or they’re an avid fitness enthusiast, is that they all benefited from learning or relearning foundational movements like the plank, hollow hold, push-up, squat, lunge, and ring row.  I’ve helped my clients workout much more efficiently, which has helped them achieve long-lasting results.

My main areas of focus:

  • Teaching people how to move with excellent form

  • Training the body to have beautiful posture

  • Optimizing muscle engagement

  • Incorporating mindful breathing

  • Learning how to listen to your body


whAT is my philosophy?

I believe that most people have a general understanding of what basic exercises should look like, but when asked to do them many people lack the confidence to properly execute the movement and so they don’t get the most out of the it, i.e., they don’t get the most bang for their buck!  From the person who has never formally exercised to the seasoned gym goer, most people have a lot of room for improvement when it comes to their form and technique.  I know that if people took the time to build a solid foundation by learning these foundational movements well, they would have more confidence, prevent more injuries, exercise more, and ultimately get better results.

Have you ever noticed how attractive it is to see someone with amazing posture? Excellent posture not only looks good; it feels good and conveys confidence.

In addition to working as a personal trainer, I also work as a fitness model and I can tell you from experience that having proper form when you exercise looks good. More than that, it feels good. Poor or even mediocre form is inefficient and makes you more susceptible to injuring yourself.

Each section offers step-by-step instruction to guide you through these fundamental exercises. You'll also learn to identify common mistakes, how to correct them, and explore progressions and variations that suit your unique fitness journey.

What is the course structure? what can you expect to learn?

The Movement Mastery course will go over detailed video instruction on how to properly execute the following six fundamental movements:

  1. Hollow Hold

  2. Plank

  3. Push-Up

  4. Squat

  5. Lunge

  6. Ring Rows

each lesson is divided into three sections:

  1. Step-By-Step Instructions

  2. Common Mistakes and Corrections

  3. Progressions and Variations


what this course is not

Please note, this course is not a traditional workout video. Instead, it's designed to empower you with the knowledge and skills to enhance your fitness practice independently. To complement your learning, I've included a comprehensive document featuring simple and effective workouts you can incorporate alongside the course material.


what equipment do you need?

To participate effectively in the Movement Mastery course, you'll need the following equipment:

  1. Gymnastics Rings or TRX System: These are essential for exercises such as Ring Rows and offer versatility for additional exercises not covered in this course. Set up gymnastics rings on a pull-up bar or use the TRX system for optimal functionality.

  2. Optional Accessories:

    • Yoga Mat: Useful for exercises such as Hollow Holds, Planks, and Push-Ups. Alternatively, a carpeted floor or a towel can be used if a mat is unavailable.

For those looking to enhance their workouts in the future, incorporating weights could be beneficial. Here is a list of equipment you might consider adding later: Movement Mastery Equipment List

my recommended approach

I suggest completing each module in order starting with the Hollow Hold and finishing with the Ring Rows.  I also understand that everyone has their own unique background with exercise, so I’ve designed this course in a way where you can view the modules in whichever order you choose.  For example, if you feel super confident in your hollow hold and plank and want to focus on your push-ups, you will have the flexibility to go right to the push-ups module.


WHAT IS MY GOAL FOR YOU?

I would like for you to complete this course in its entirety.  Start with the first lesson on the Hollow Hold and move through the course in order:

  3. Push-Up

  4. Squat

  5. Lunge

  6. Ring Rows

After you’ve completed the entire course in order, go back to any section that you’d like to review and practice again. That’s the beauty of this course: I’m giving you an entire year to review everything in this course as many times as you wish. 

In the Introduction section, as well as in the Introduction section for each of the six movements, you will find a supplemental document called Cat’s FUNdamental Training Program that you can start using right away as you practice these movements.

Every movement is adaptable. If, for example, you haven't yet mastered a strict push-up, there's no need to worry. I'll guide you through modified versions to help you get started, and as you build confidence and strength, we'll make these movements more challenging.

This course is designed to allow you to learn at your own pace. You have the flexibility to revisit the videos as often as you need, ensuring the information is absorbed into your 'muscle memory.' Charles’ transformation with the plank

Charles believed he knew how to perform a plank, but after watching this course multiple times, he realized he wasn't engaging his muscles correctly and his form needed improvement. Through repeated practice of the plank module, his confidence grew significantly, and he began to notice a remarkable difference in his body once he mastered the correct technique.
